Food is called medicine when it brings the body back to a state of balance. But first we must ask, what is the source of imbalance? In this workshop, Asha will discuss how food becomes medicine from a contextual perspective, analyzing the relationship of plant food to the seasons, individual health needs, lifestyle, and to the way we prepare and combine ingredients and our cooking methods. Since it is summer, the importance of balancing foods for this season will be highlighted, and the recipes will address our need to keep cool in this heat. This workshop will help you to think more critically about food choices, and how to use the “food as medicine” concept to harness the best from nature that will benefit instead of harm.

Did you know that the same food that we call as medicine can be a toxin if prepared in the wrong context? Find out more in this workshop.
