ROMMEL ROLANDO G. BAILEY or Ome, as he is fondly called, is a UPLB graduate of BS Agriculture in 1997.

Before becoming a full-time entrepreneur, his diverse experience in the industry of food and agriculture included Pahinungod volunteer work in a farming community in North Cotabato. Also, he had an engagement at Clarmil-Goldilocks Food Manufacturing, PCARRD, and SEARCA. He also had various consultancy activities in Bulacan, Bicol, Capiz and Surigao del Sur. He was involved in social action projects under the Prelature of Libmanan in Camarines Sur, and the Catholic Relief Services in Leyte.

His interest in the field eventually became an advocacy for healthier food alternatives and sustainable livelihoods for individuals and their families. Kuya Ome has been going around the country to champion this cause by touching ground with community leaders, farmers, entrepreneurs, and the academe to come together for an integrated food system that will benefit those in the grassroots.

Eventually, he was led to organic, non-GMO, local soybeans as the primary raw material for his growing business. Currently, he is the co-owner and lead of operations of a homegrown, UPLB-assisted and trained microenterprise - the Likhaya Food Products whose bestselling products such as chilled taho, firm tofu and soymilk can be accessed in UPLB Techno Hub and One-Stop Shop.
